About Dr. Thompson
Dr. Peggy Thompson Ph. D. (Psy6780) is a founder and co-director of Collaborative Divorce Associates and Family Psychological Services in Bodega Bay, CA; as well as a co- founder of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and of Collaborative Divorce Trainings. She has been a licensed psychologist for 30 years specializing in treating children and families. For over fifteen years she has been intensely involved in the divorce process in such roles as custody evaluator, special master and high conflict counselor. During the last fifteen years Dr. Thompson has been leading the development of the Collaborative Divorce process, together with teaching this systematic, interdisciplinary approach to the divorce process. Dr. Thompson is deeply engaged in the application of Appreciative Inquiry to the collaborative process. She uses with tools to help clients work collaboratively with one another, increase success, strengthen, expand and enhance the effectiveness of IACP. Dr. Thompson is co-author (with Dr. A. Rodney Nurse) of "Collaborative Divorce: A Humane, Interdisciplinary Approach,” a chapter in Innovations in Practice: A Source Book (L. Vande Creek, Ed.), Resources Press in January of 2000. and Collaborative Divorce: A New, Interdisciplinary Approach American Journal of Family Law, Vol 13 (1999) Dr. Thompson is also a co-author of Divorce: A Problem to be Solved, Not a Battle to be Fought, (Brookwood 1997) .
